Schmeckt Creations is a CREATIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT company that consists of artists specializing in sculpting, painting, curating, and design.
Elani Willemse, Francois, and Lizanne Visser have worked on numerous projects together in the past, which led to them opening Schmeckt Creations (Pty) Ltd) in 2016. In 2019 Elani immigrated to the Netherlands and decided to step back from the company allowing Lizanne to enter the partnership with her husband Francois.
Francois Visser completed a BA Fine Arts Honours Degree (majoring in sculpture) at the University of Pretoria in 2002. He ended his tertiary education on a high note when awarded the Eduardo Villa scholarship for the best fourth-year sculpture student of 2002. Francois reached further success when awarded the second prize for technical excellence at the annual PPC art competition in 2003. His most recent achievement was as Project Manager for the 2014 Cool Capital Biennale, where the PPC Benches Project was awarded the BASA award for Innovation in 2016. In 2019 Francois was the designer and artist who created the Aitsa awards trophy for Pretoria FM's brand new music awards.
Francois joined Dionysus Sculpture Works under the artist Angus Taylor in 2003 where he further explored his artistic talents. He lectured at Open Window Art Academy in Pretoria during 2005 and was a part-time lecturer at the University of Pretoria (2007-2013). He has work in the ABSA Bank Art Collection, Saronsberg Wine Estates private collection, and numerous of his work has been sold to clients in the USA, Belgium, UK, and Germany.
His work is figurative, narrative, representational and symbolic, and highly crafted in a number of materials such as bronze, aluminum, ceramic, steel & cement. With the knowledge and expertise in his field, Francois has managed numerous creative projects for Schmeckt Creations.
Lizanne Visser was born in 1980 in Pretoria. With a passion for visual art, she enrolled for a BA Fine Arts (Hons) Degree (majoring in sculpture) at the University of Pretoria. She completed her tertiary education in 2002 after which she immediately entered the education field. Lizanne completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education in 2010 at the University of South Africa. She is currently the Head of Department: Design and Visual Art at Cornwall Hill College in Pretoria, and she is appointed as the Internal Moderator for Design at the Independent Education Board. She recently started creating online content for Curro Choice for their Design Studies course. Lizanne acts as a client liaison, marketing manager, designer, and artist for Schmeckt Creations.
Schmeckt Creations recently started Tulip@schmecktcreations - designing fabrics and creating various products that are on sale online (shop) or at open studio days. Open Studio days are on the Saturdays from 9 - 12 @ 85 Hoyt Crescent, Moreletapark.
